Growroom

Ever since our earliest days, before the company was founded in 1984 even,

we have operated demonstration growrooms. This was initially for our own pleasure but as time went by these rooms became indispensable to the development and promotion of our business.

Our current growroom has full climate control delivered by the amazing GreenAir MCC-1. It also has an extra high ceiling at one end and this has allowed us to grow bananas properly for the first time – getting our first harvest in 2003.

• It gives a place to trial and develop the kits and systems that we sell – long before we put them on the market.

• AquaFlows in particular had a long development period, as it was crucial to get the fluid delivery right, which affected the tray design. The tray was fine tuned over several months before the perfect configuration was found.
  

• It gives us a chance to trial other peoples products before adding them to our range – IGS for example.
  

• It is of great assistance in writing the instructions to go with new products – to be able to use the product in a controlled environment over relatively long periods of time.
  

• It allows us to maintain a continuous supply of healthy plants for use in Trade Shows and Exhibitions.
  

• It is a great resource for photography – we are always needing pictures of products and plants – and the growroom – with several thousand watts of Metal Halide lighting is an ideal place to do that.
  

• It provides the staff with an – almost – continuous supply of Basil, with a less regular harvest of chillies and an annual bounty of bananas.
  

• It is a very nice place to go on a cold winters morning – temperature is consistent at around 23C and there are always great plants to check out.
